This is the cleanest licence position of any index on the site. The data page and the national portal listing both say Type 1 and agree — of thirteen candidates we screened, this was the only one where the two did not diverge. - We did not assign the districts
- The first column of the source file is the district. No step assigns docking stations to districts by address, so there is no place for an assignment error to enter. The items are all 25 Seoul districts, with nothing to pick and nothing to cut. As a check the district count must be 25 and the rows must sum to the published totals, or the build fails.
- What “net” means and why it sits alongside
- The ranking variable is rentals. The net figure beside it is returns minus rentals. People do not return bikes where they took them, so the two counts differ, and that gap describes the district: negative means bikes drain out of it, positive means they pile up in it. Both numbers come from the same row of the same source — nothing is blended in.
- The station count is activity, not an inventory
- The source carries usage, not a register of docking stations. So the station count here is the number of stations with at least one rental or return in the window. A station that exists but saw no use in the period is not counted, and the figure may differ from the city’s published station count.
